The Tongue
OF THE HEAVENS
The Tongue is a title given to the overseer of the Oligarch, a committee of individuals brought together by a society known as the 'Heavens.' The Heavens are a superior elite race who have kept themselves alive beyond life expectancy with the assistance of technology and continual organ replacement. All people from the Heavens have pale white skin and genetically enhanced eyes. Ironically the Heavens abolished all religion, replaced by worship of science. They claim themselves as a utopian civilization.
HEAVEN'S LAW
The Oligarch lays down six official Laws. Trials are typically held on the edge of the Gates, allowing the accused one last wish to jump to their death. Violating any of the Heaven Laws is punishable by death. All those blood related to the guilty must also face the same punishment; this is the three-generation rule.
The Citizens
OF ARCHESTON
The Gates to Heaven. A corrupt upper-class civilization. Archeston is the central district governed by the Heavens. A new world built on top of the old. The Gates city stands above the atmosphere, out of harm's reach from all the danger below. A dark cyber city that thrives within the clouds where it never stops raining. Although the city is not horizontally vast, it is vertical. Bridges link the enormous tall structures. All citizens are to be designated to an occupation that best serves the Heaven's order.
THE MOON
By Heaven's Law, citizens born in Archeston must have a micro device implanted within their eyes. This device is called a ‘Moon’ and catalogs valuable information for the Heavens, such as their global location and all visual data observed by the person. A scanner device is required to access the Moon’s visual data. Only Heaven authorities possess such equipment.
The Gate’s Keep is the headquarters of the Gatekeepers and is the only sacred place within Archeston that is forbidden for Heaven individuals to enter. A white line at the entrance is painted to distinguish how far Heaven officials may be near the Keep.
The Keep is far from the rest of Archeston, standing alone as a giant cylindrical tower. Only an extending concrete bridge connects the city and the Keep.
The Gatekeepers were instated by both people from the Anyth and Archeston. These individuals were given the independent role of unifying and protecting the people's rights on both sides. Because of the Heaven's advantage in technology and resources, they technically out rule the Gatekeepers within Archeston, having complete control over their citizens. The Gatekeepers still attempt to bring justice to the people and remain as the actual judgmental figures.
Gatekeepers dress in a detective-like manner with black clothing. They always carry an umbrella, dark glasses, and a handgun. Like other Archeston citizens, they also have a Moon implanted within their eyes. The Gatekeepers also have their symbol printed onto their black tie, which represents their policing badge. The leader of the Gatekeepers is known as the ‘Standing Keeper’ and has an altered tie design to the others.
